Kicking off on April 9 and running all the way until June 15, this glorious celebration is set to light up the nights at John Ball Zoo.
A Festival Like No Other in Michigan!
This festival is truly a one-of-a-kind experience for our state, as it stands out as the only lantern festival of its kind in Michigan. Organized by Tianyu Arts & Culture Inc., the event serves as a fantastic showcase of Asian culture, all centered around spectacular lanterns. Last year, festival-goers enjoyed an underwater world filled with stunning sea creatures, vibrant flowers, and playful insects. This year, however, it’s all about the jungles of the rainforest!
What Awaits You in the Rainforest?
And that’s not all! Some of these lanterns are equipped with motion sensors and interactive features, making your walk more than just a feast for the eyes. Expect to see elements that release smoke and bubbles, adding an element of surprise to your stroll. It’s a delightful way to engage with the art while celebrating creativity!
Fun for All Ages
The festival isn’t just about viewing lanterns; it’s designed to create an immersive atmosphere for everyone. As you roam, you’ll be treated to an array of music throughout the zoo, enhancing the enchanting experience. Plus, families will love the playground area, where lanterns come alive with illuminated seesaws and light-up clouds for children to swing from. It’s a perfect blend of art and play to enjoy together.
Make Sure You Get Your Tickets!
Festival tours will take place every Wednesday through Sunday, starting at 7:30 p.m. and running until 11:30 p.m. To join this spectacular event, be mindful of ticket prices—nonmembers will pay $22 on weekdays and $26 on weekends.
