On April 26, 2025, Grand Rapids witnessed two spectacular proms at local venues, celebrating the milestones of high school students. West Ottawa High School’s ‘City of Stars’ prom at the Grand Rapids Public Museum filled the night with glitz, while Forest Hills Eastern High School’s ‘Floating on Violets’ celebration at Thousand Oaks Country Club offered a whimsical atmosphere. Both events showcased the joy and energy of students embarking on their futures, while capturing memories that will last a lifetime.
Grand Rapids, MI was the place to be on Saturday, April 26, 2025, as two local high schools hosted their annual proms, bringing together students, friends, and family for a night to remember. With shimmering dresses and sharp suits, students from West Ottawa High School and Forest Hills Eastern High School celebrated their milestones in style, creating unforgettable memories.
The evening kicked off at the magnificent Grand Rapids Public Museum, which welcomed approximately 690 students and their guests for what turned out to be a magical night. The prom’s theme, “City of Stars,” set a glamorous tone, transporting everyone into a dazzling night of glitz and excitement.
As the music played and the dance floor filled, the atmosphere radiated joy and energy. Attendees enjoyed delicious treats, including sweet cookies and soft drinks, to keep them refreshed throughout the evening. The museum provided multiple floors for exploration, turning the prom into a mini-adventure. Students danced under shimmering lights while also taking breaks to check out arcade games, fascinating exhibits, and even a planetarium experience. Excitement filled the air, as these young adults embraced this bittersweet ending to their high school journey.

Meanwhile, at the fancy Thousand Oaks Country Club, 320 students and guests gathered for Forest Hills Eastern High School’s prom. The theme for their event, “Floating on Violets,” added a touch of whimsy to the beautifully decorated venue. Guests arrived looking their best, ready to enjoy a night filled with dancing, mingling, and fun.
As they danced the night away, guests also had the opportunity to take snaps at a fabulous photo booth, capturing their playful moments and memories with friends. Dinner was a highlight too, featuring mouthwatering options such as chicken pesto and bistro steak. The evening was perfectly balanced with delicious food, enchanting music, and sparkling company.
This year’s prom also crowned senior students Brennan Lee and Katie McManus as the king and queen of the night, adding an extra touch of excitement and celebration. As they took center stage, bright smiles lit up not only their faces but the entire room.
