All eyes were on Allendale, Michigan, as the Grand Valley State University (GVSU) women’s lacrosse team delivered a stunning performance against Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU), winning with an overwhelming score of 25-3. This match, held on April 4, not only showcased the athletes’ skill but also served as the university’s Morgan’s Message Dedication Game, an event that spotlights the critical importance of mental health among student-athletes.

A Meaningful Game

Junior attacker Gracie Bancroft soon added to the tally, quickly following up with her 16th goal after forcing a turnover, and then the pair fired up the crowd by orchestrating a sequence of goals from freshman midfielder Kendra Swope and senior attacker Zoe Ziegler, both scoring within a minute’s time.

SVSU’s Brief Glimpse

Kaylyn Carter, who reached a notable milestone with her 200th career save, making her the fourth player in GVSU’s history to achieve this.

A Q1 Hat Trick Extravaganza

Grace Maddox, who found the net for her fifth time this season. Rothe capped the first quarter off with her hat trick as the Lakers led a staggering 9-1 at the end of the first quarter.
